Job Summary
Underwriting commercial and real estate credit requests of different degrees of complexity, limited management supervision where applicable. The scope of the underwriting/analysis will include, but will not be limited to, spreading financial statements of borrowing entities and related sponsors/guarantors, analyzing cash flow capacity, assessing the adequacy and efficacy of credit structure, and engaging in any other meaningful type of analysis (i.e. strategic, accounting, financial, prospective, compliance) relevant to the assessment of repayment capacity as well as identification and mitigation of credit risk. Responsibilities of the job will also include special projects related to credit administration and market analysis, supporting multiple functions in the appraisal ordering and review process, as well as the mentoring of less experienced analysts
Detailed Description:
• Spread financial statements on a spreadsheet program, calculate repayment ability, and prepare written comments to facilitate sound credit decisions regarding loan requests.
• Analyze collateral adequacy with respect to credit structure and type of loan.
• Analyze market and submarket conditions with respect to the project being underwritten.
• Spread and analysis of company and guarantor/principal financial statements.
• Assist with ordering real estate appraisals and coordinating appraisal workflow.
• Assist with internal reviews of real estate appraisals and ordering external appraisal reviews
• Attend work on a regular basis, on time, and withstand varying degrees of stress.
• Attention to regulatory requirements and compliance training applicable to position (Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Information Privacy ETC)
• Integrity, discretion, and respect for confidential information are absolutely essential.

Education and Experience
• Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting, or related field required. Must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours in Accounting.
• Three to five years of experience in commercial credit underwriting/analysis including analytical exposure to commercial and industrial credits as well as commercial real estate relationships a plus.
• High proficiency in business software including word processing and spreadsheet programs.
• Must be able to multi task

• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Must be customer service and detail oriented.
• Analytical ability required in order to gather and interpret data in situations where the problems are complex.
• Excellent interpersonal skills


Physical Demands
The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee will regularly sit; talk; hear; and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee will occasionally stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb and balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Special vision requirements include close, distant, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment and physical demands are those of a standard retail branch setting.
